The second Corona-related shutdown in Germany has been initiated. Even though most companies are currently not affected by the shutdown measures and their employees are very much allowed or required to go to work, the German government has issued an urgent recommendation: Home offices should be permitted, where possible. In terms of containing the virus, this recommendation makes perfect sense. We should all reduce our contacts by 75 % in the lockdown month of November. So it is counterproductive to travel to work on public transport and sit in a room or even in an open-plan office together with colleagues!
So companies with the technical infrastructure to enable their employees to work from home are lucky! In March this year, when the government ordered the first shutdown, many companies were caught off guard by this measure. They simply did not have the technical infrastructure to connect their office employees from home efficiently and as completely as possible to the company IT.
Simply Continue Work From the Home Office
Employees of companies with STARFACE telephone systems were well off at that time: In the evening, they simply closed their notebooks, packed their headphones and went home. The next morning, provided they had a reasonably good internet connection in their home, they could start their computers at home and continue their work in their home office. Incoming phone calls from outside the office reached them just like in the office, they could call their usual office number, continue chats with their colleagues, see at one glance which colleague is online, share files and much more. In short, they took the entire communication and collaboration environment out of the office – from the call list and phone book to the chat history and presence information. Even sophisticated convenience features like the ability to call ad-hoc conferences worked from home thanks to the STARFACE UCC Client.
STARFACE launched a campaign in the spring to enable companies that did not yet use a STARFACE telephone system to send their employees to their home office. A large number of temporarily free UCC Client Premium licenses were made available as part of the campaign. With a simultaneously installed Cloud Telephone System, STARAFCE enabled numerous employees to work from their home office. Part of the action was also the early introduction of a free beta version of the new video meeting solution STARFACE NEON, which was also very well received by the market. STARFACE NEON is integrated into the UCC client From December 1, the video meeting solution STARFACE NEON will be an integral part of the STARFACE communication platform. This means: video conferences or video chats are started directly from the UCC Client and round off the STARFACE solution. STARFACE NEON Is Integrated Into the UCC Client
Since December 1, the video meeting solution STARFACE NEON is an integral part of the STARFACE communication platform. This means: video conferences or video chats are started directly from the UCC client and round off the STARFACE communication offer. Since every STARFACE user is allowed to start video conferences, there is no need to purchase individual licenses, as is required with other providers.
