At Com.vention, STARFACE officially unveiled its new Appliances Generation 2027. The focus is on three models featuring comprehensive technical upgrades: STARFACE Compact V5, STARFACE Compact SIP V5 and STARFACE Advanced V8. The proven STARFACE Platinum V7 remains unchanged in the portfolio as its most powerful model.
The new generation stands for one clear message: cloud first, but not cloud only. Companies that want to operate their communications platform within their own infrastructure for strategic, technical or organisational reasons will continue to have access to a powerful hardware-based phone system. This can be particularly beneficial where special integration requirements, existing on-premises components or a preference for a self-managed operating model are involved.
What Sets the New Appliance Generation Apart?
STARFACE has comprehensively modernised the hardware platform of the Compact, Compact SIP and Advanced models. The new systems feature the latest chip generations, larger SSDs, more RAM and processors with twice as many cores. This gives the 2027 generation additional performance reserves for growing demands and future features.
All appliances include a STARFACE server licence. The Compact, Compact SIP and Advanced models also include three users. The systems support SIP trunking and can be configured with any number of SIP providers. However, the number of SIP/NGN connections that can be used simultaneously depends on the respective model.
Which Models Are Part of the STARFACE Portfolio?
STARFACE Compact V5
The STARFACE Compact V5 is designed for up to 25 simultaneously active users and a maximum of ten SIP/NGN connections. It provides two S0 ports and four analogue FXS ports. This makes it particularly suitable for small businesses that need to connect analogue devices or existing ISDN components alongside modern VoIP telephony.
STARFACE Compact SIP V5
The STARFACE Compact SIP V5 also supports up to 25 simultaneously active users and ten SIP/NGN connections. However, it does not include any analogue or ISDN interfaces. It is therefore designed for small businesses and sites whose communications are already based entirely on IP and SIP.
STARFACE Advanced V8
The STARFACE Advanced V8 is intended for larger installations. It supports up to 200 simultaneously active users, a maximum of 45 SIP/NGN connections, ten simultaneous conferences and ten simultaneous call recordings. Like the two Compact models, it features 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. Its 1.5U chassis is designed for permanent installation in a 19-inch rack.
STARFACE Platinum V7
The STARFACE Platinum V7 remains the most powerful appliance in the portfolio. It is designed for up to 2,000 simultaneously active users, 500 SIP/NGN connections, 60 simultaneous conferences and 40 simultaneous call recordings. Its hardware includes 32 GB of RAM, two SSDs in a RAID 1 configuration and redundant power supplies. Both the SSDs and power supplies are hot-swappable.
What the Launch Means for Your Business
With the Appliances Generation 2027, we are renewing our on-premises portfolio without changing its proven underlying principle: businesses receive a coordinated combination of hardware and STARFACE software. The new technical platform provides greater performance reserves while laying the foundation for future requirements.
Choosing the right model depends on more than just the size of your business. The most important factors include the number of simultaneously active users, concurrent SIP connections, conferences, call recordings and required interfaces. Before selecting a model, we recommend assessing these requirements together with a STARFACE partner to identify the appliance that provides sufficient capacity for your specific use case.
